ESADE Spain Masters in Management

ESADE is a global academic institution known for the quality of its education, its international outlook and its clear focus on holistic personal development. It is one of the highest ranked Spanish schools for Masters in Management (#11 in FT rankings 2018).

Essays

The four essays are each written within a 2000 character limit. These sample questions are specific to the Master in International Management; specialized Masters may differ.

1. One of the following, to share your global mindset and competencies: (a) Which country/culture do you consider the most different from your own, and how would you adapt if sent there? (b) Which attributes and competencies are crucial to succeed when dealing with diversity in the corporate world? (c) Share your most amazing, most shocking and worst experiences far away from your comfort zone.
2. Why do you think ESADE's MSc Programs in Management are a good fit for you?
3. Describe your mid-term and long-term visions for your post-MSc career path. What about ESADE will help you reach your goals?
4. Provide any additional information for the Admissions Committee: gaps in employment, your undergraduate record, plans to retake the GMAT, or anything else relevant.

Answering these requires digging deep into your own aspirations and ideologies, and researching ESADE well.

Referral form

You provide the names of your recommenders (preferably 2), their email ids and your relationship with them. ESADE sends them an online form asking how they know you, your key strengths and talents, your key weaknesses or areas for improvement, and your potential for management with an example of you in a leadership role. It may also ask them to rate you out of 5.

The interview round

About 2 weeks after submitting, you can choose a timeslot and city for the interview (Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore are the options in India). It lasts 30 to 45 minutes and is not a stress interview: questions target your motivation, candidacy and fit. Expect questions like:

• Tell me about yourself.
• Are you up to date with the economic developments in Spain? What is your take?
• Why do you want to study at ESADE?
• Have you applied to other schools? (Also asked in the application form, so keep your answers coherent.) If yes: how will you choose between multiple admits? If no: what is your plan B if ESADE rejects you?
• What are your professional goals?
• Are you willing to come back to India after your education?
• Have you ever visited Spain or Europe? If yes, talk about your experience.
• Do you have any questions for me?
